Accessories Me PHP Affiliate Script is easy to setup and run but familiarity with the Amazon Software Development Kit (SDK)
will give you a distinct advantage. A .pdf copy is enclosed in the docs folder (view latest version).

REQUIREMENTS: PHP 4+ (earlier versions not tested). MySQL is OPTIONAL.

UPGRADING: If you are running a previous version of the script it is recommended that you backup your existing files, transfer any modifications to the new version and use this instead. Version 1.4 forms the core of all future versions and will make managing future and modifications easier for you.

SUPPORT: Even if you are familiar with the SDK (recommended, but not essential) please note that documentation for the script is not extensive in terms of how it can be customised and all the possible options/configurations, so please don't hesitate to browse and ask questions in the support forum at: http://www.accessories.me.uk/forum-2.htm.

SETUP

It is advisable to get the script up and running BEFORE customising (should take 5 minutes).

  1. Open constants.php in a PLAIN text editor (e.g Notepad) and enter the full path to your cache directory e.g /home/YOUR_SITENAME/htdocs/STORE/cache/
    Ensure it ends with a trailing slash.
  2. Edit your ASSOCIATEID. If you are not already a member of the Amazon associates program remove XXXXXXXXXXXXXX for the purposes of testing. You can sign up for an associate id later at http://associates1.amazon.com/exec/panama/associates/apply/  or get one from your local Amazon site e.g amazon.co.uk, amazon.co.jp or amazon.de.
  3. Save your changes.
  4. Create a directory to hold all of the files for the script on your webserver. You can call it whatever you like for example 'store'.
  5. Upload all the script files in this package AND the cache folder to your new directory in ASCII mode. Upload the picts folder in BINARY mode. There is no need to upload the 'docs' folder.
  6. CHMOD the cache folder to 777.
  7. Test the script by viewing your new store directory/index.php in in your browser. If all is well you should have an iPod store up and running.
  8. CHMOD the cache folder to 700.

CUSTOMISATION

  1. Re-open constants.php in your text editor and edit the remaining variables.
  2. Save your changes and upload to your webserver.
  3. Modify the main navigation links and sub categories by editing displaycategories.php and morelinks.php.
