###1 - Configuration###
 ##1.1 - MySQL Setup##
In order to run BrightTracker, you have to have a MySQL database previously installed on your server, we do not provide these for you or set them up for you. To set BrightTracker up to run on your database, open the config.php file and edit the first four lines. The file is commented so you know what needs to be added.

 ##1.2 - Setting settings##
To start, open the config.php file. $sitename and $siteurl need to be edited. Change $sitename to your sites name. And change $siteurl to your sites base url(ie http://www.scaryent.net).

 ##1.3 - Choosing username/password##
In the config.php file there are two more variables that need to be edited, $adminName and $adminPass. Edit these to what you would like your adminstrative username and password to be. Then save the file and upload all the files in the zip to your server.

###2 - Installation###
After all the files are uploaded and config.php is edited. Run the install.php file from your browser(http://www.yoursite.com/BrightTracker/install.php). After the installation is complete, delete the file and BrightTracker is set up.

###3 - Tracking###
Before BrightTracker will start tracking your pages, you must add the below code to your site. The code has to be placed on all pages you would like to be tracked. Make sure BrightTracker/tracker.php points to where tracker.php is located on your server.

<a href="http://www.scaryent.net/projects/BrightTracker"><SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
	<!--
var from = document.referrer;
document.write("<IMG SRC=/BrightTracker/tracker.php?view=All&id=" + from + " border=0 topmaring=2");
	// -->
</SCRIPT></a>

After that is done, BrightTracker will begin tracking. Note that changing it so it says view=Unqiue will result in the counter displaying only unique hits.

###4 - Administration###
 ##4.1 - Loggin in##
To login, run the admin.php file from your browser. Then, use the username and password you selected in the config.php file to login.

 ##4.2 - Search Engines##
From the search engines area you can delete search engines being tracked, as well as add ones you would like to be tracked. If you like you can also add specific sites you would like to track as though they were search engines.

 ##4.3 - Clearing Logs##
From this area of the administration center you can clear the logs of specific area. Once this is done, it is perminant.

 ##4.4 - Admin Options##
These are some options first added in v0.2 that give the admin control over what the public can see. On screen it explains what they are for and what they do. So you shouldn't have any trouble with them.

###5 - Support###
If you are having trouble of anytime, please contact us at support@scaryent.net with your questions and we will answer them as promptly as possible.

###6 - Upgrading###
If upgrading from another version or planning ahead to see how difficult it may be to update in the future, it's this simple. Simply delete all current BrightTracker files, and upload the new ones to the same directory. All old files will be of the same name so that updating is as easy as possible. Any changes that need to be done to the database will be explained in detail in the update.php file.

###7 - Customization###
 ##7.1 - Counter##
If you have trouble with the colors, email us at support@scaryent.net and provide us with the rgb values of the colors you want(or just color names(ie. red background and orange font) and we will provide you with the needed code.
  ##7.1.1 - Background Color##
If you want to change the background color of the counter so it matches your sites background color, do the following. Note, that if this isn't done correctly the counter wont show up and without doing the default background color is black.
Now, in the above code, find the part ?view=All(may be ?view=Unique depending on your cusomization). Directly after that, add the following br=0&bg=0&bb=0& .
Now, those three things are the r(red)g(green)b(blue) values for the background color. So edit the 0's to match your chosen color. After adding that, the code should look like below.

tracker.php?view=All&br=0&bg=0&bb=0&id=" + from + "

A full RGB color list will be made available on the Bright Light Software home page at a later date.
  ##7.1.2 - Font Color##
To change the font color of the counter, do the following. First note that not doing this correctly will cause the counter to not show up and the default is white(to go with the black background color).
With that said, find the part of the above code that says ?view=All(may be ?view-Unique for you). Directly after that, add fr=255&fg=255&fb=255& .
Those three things are the rgb values for the font color. So edit the 0's to match the color you wish to achieve. After adding that, the code should look like the below code does.

tracker.php?view=All&fr=0&fg=0&fb=0&id=" + from + "

If you changed the background color and you want to change the font color, it should look like the below(with the values changed for your background color).

tracker.php?view=All&br=0&bg=0&bb=0&fr=255&fg=255&fb=255&id=" + from + "

A full RGB color list will be made available on the Bright Light Software home page at a later date.
